WMCLab participated in the 13th International Conference on Modern Circuits and Systems Technologies (MOCAST), which was held in Sofia, Bulgaria, from June 26-28, 2024 (MOCAST 2024). At the conference, Prof. George Tsoulos along with colleague T. Kaiafas from DUTH, chaired the Session on ML Applications in Communications & Electronics.
He also presented the team's research conducted under the PANDORA project, entitled "Field Trials of Modern Cellular Networks in Diverse Operational Environments", which was nominated for the best paper award in communication systems.
The study focuses on the measurements of 4G & 5G systems involving three mobile operators in the Peloponnese region. Results suggest that increasing the density of base stations is essential for extending high-speed data services over large areas, while the deployment of higher frequency bands should be planned for short distances.
