Participation in MEDITCOM 2024

As the measurement campaign from the PANDORA project progresses, findings are increasingly being documented in research publications and presented at international conferences. WMCLab showcased the team’s research at the IEEE International Mediterranean Conference on Communications and Networking, which was held in Madrid, Spain, 8–11 July 2024 (IEEE MEDITCOM 2024). The paper entitled,

‘Empirical Evaluation of SINR and Throughput in 5G/4G Networks: A Drone-Assisted Measurement Approach’ was presented by Assoc. Prof. Georgia Athanasiadou.

Participation in MEDITCOM 2024 The paper discussed drone-assisted collection of measurement results for 4G & 5G systems involving three mobile operators in the Peloponnese region. The results suggested considerable variations in system availability among operators, indicating inconsistencies in 5G network coverage and reliability. The paper also emphasized the importance of optimizing network performance to fully leverage the potential of 5G, aiming to enhance signal consistency and quality.
