Both Prof. Sotirios Goudos and myself would like to thank David D. Botha, Counsellor of ITU-R Study Group 3 on Radiowave Propagation, for his invitation to contribute to the ITU-R Workshop on "Applications of Machine Learning in Radio-Wave Propagation Prediction”, held on 27 May 2025 in Geneva, Switzerland. The event brought together over 100 leading experts from around the world to discuss the intersection of AI and wireless communications.
Our presentation, entitled “Modelling Received Power from Wireless Networks in Greece Using Machine Learning”, was one of eight expert contributions exploring the role of AI in modern wireless communication systems.
The first part, presented by me, covered the extensive measurement campaign and field trials conducted across different cellular operators and systems in Greece. The second part, presented by Prof. Sotirios Goudos, focused on the machine learning techniques applied to the measured data, showcasing the resulting performance and predictive capabilities.
We look forward to continuing our engagement within the ITU-R community and contributing to the ongoing efforts to advance data-driven approaches in radiowave propagation and international wireless communication standards.
