The WMCLab research team participated in the SEEDA-CECNSM 2026 Conference in Thessaloniki, contributing to scientific discussions on wireless communications and 5G networks.
A highlight of the conference was the Best Paper Award in Communications for the paper "Site-Specific Evaluation of 5G Service Feasibility in Urban Environments" by Prof. Georgia Athanasiadou, Sofia Moukidou and Prof. George Tsoulos.
The presented work investigates the feasibility of 5G services in real urban environments through a site-specific evaluation approach, considering the characteristics of the propagation environment and the requirements of modern wireless communication services. The study provides insights into the factors that influence 5G service feasibility at specific locations and highlights the importance of realistic, site-specific assessment for the planning and deployment of advanced wireless networks.
The WMCLab team would like to thank the SEEDA-CECNSM 2026 organizers and reviewers for this recognition.
