Students of WMCLab at MOCAST 2019

Our students Elisavet Koutsi, Sotiris Deligiannis (3rd year undergraduates) and Giannis Sarantopoulos (1st year postgraduate of the MSc Modern Wireless Communications) presented their first paper at the 8th International Conference on Modern Circuits and Systems Technologies (MOCAST) on Electronics and Communications in Thessaloniki, Greece. The paper is entitled “Radiation measurements in the office environment with Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G users”.

The measurement campaign that was carried out in the lab with the provided equipment (Narda SRM-3000) and up to 5 people present in the room, evaluated the electric field for typical lab operational scenarios that considered combination of radiation from a WiFi router and 3g-4g cellular wireless.

The results show that even with one WiFi user in the lab the radiation level can be higher than the reference level for the whole band, while the corresponding scenario for 3g-4g would be with three users.
