WMCLab participated with two papers at the 18th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation that took place in Glasgow, Scotland, 17-22 March, 2024 (EuCAP2024).
Both papers were presented by Asoc. Professor Georgia Athanasiadou.
The first paper [1] presents comparative 5G NSA field trials for all three Greek network operators. It utilizes handheld devices to simultaneously evaluate system parameters for both 5G and 4G networks across different operational environments. The results provide insights into critical metrics assessing coverage, capacity, and performance quality for the three cellular networks. This work is part of the Pandora project.
The second paper [2] presents the results of a collaborative work with colleagues from 4 other universities. It utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) and extensive measured data to compare different machine learning (ML) models for accurately predicting Reference Signal Receiving Power (RSRP). The analysis of the proposed ML models demonstrates their high accuracy in predicting RSRP across diverse environments, including urban, suburban, and rural areas.
